Launching Two New Formulas: HYDRATING and SENSITIVE

PerioSciences Hydrating KitTwo New Formulas: HYDRATING and SENSITIVE

Two new formulations of PerioSciences AO ProRinse and AO ProToothpaste are taking oral hygiene in a bold new direction.

Both the antioxidant-based AO ProRinse and AO ProToothpaste are now available in a HYDRATING formula and also a SENSITIVE formula. Each product builds on the effectiveness of antioxidants ferulic acid and phloretin by adding powerful minerals, essential oils, and other naturally-sourced ingredients. The HYDRATING formula is designed to help with dryness in the mouth, and the SENSITIVE formula is for people whose teeth hurt when exposed to heat, cold, sweets or other stimuli.

The newly formulated toothpastes and mouth rinses join the suite of PerioSciences products that includes AO ProRinse and AO ProToothpaste in WHITE CARE and NATURAL formulations plus the flagship AO ProVantage dental gel.

HYDRATING formula for dryness in the mouth

“The dental professionals who recommend our products for their patients report that they have seen amazing results on a wide range of conditions,” says Russell Moon, PerioSciences founder and president. “We are especially pleased that patients with dry mouth or xerostomia appreciate the moisturizing and freshening effects of our AO ProVantage dental gel. And now, the new HYDRATING mouth rinse and toothpaste feature even more ingredients to soothe the symptoms of dry mouth.”

Some of the special new ingredients in the HYDRATING formula include plant extracts that stimulate saliva, compounds that attract and retain moisture in living cells, and flavorful essential oils from mint, thyme, sage, and clove.

SENSITIVE formula relieves pain

The SENSITIVE toothpaste formula also includes potassium nitrate, which is the best known anti-sensitivity ingredient in oral care products. The mouth rinse features additional botanicals proven as healing and soothing agents.

“There are other products on the market intended for people who have sensitive teeth,” notes Moon. “But the AO ProRinse and AO ProToothpaste have the standard potassium nitrate, and much more. Our antioxidants, botanicals, and sophisticated minerals also fight cavities, freshen breath, and add the advantages of powerful antioxidants as well.”

Fighting cavities and halitosis

Both the HYDRATING and SENSITIVE toothpaste formulas include sodium monofluorophosphate, known for its anti-cavity properties, as well as hydroxyapatite and silica, the primary mineral components of dental enamel. Another ingredient, Plasdone®, is a stain-lifting polymer that has been shown to dissolve tea, coffee, and other surface stains.

All four new products, as well as the existing PerioSciences products, contain ingredients that discourage the bacteria associated with tooth decay and volatile sulfur compounds, the root cause of halitosis.

Antioxidants and total health

“All PerioSciences products are based on the technology of topical antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals in the oral cavity,” explains Moon. “The free radicals can be caused by nicotine, alcohol, teeth-bleaching, or dental appliances and procedures, but they are also associated with infection and inflammation from gum disease. Science also shows that an overabundance of free radicals is linked to inflammation and chronic disorders such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, complications with fertility and pregnancy, and many others.

“With these advanced formulas, HYDRATING and SENSITIVE, along with the WHITE CARE and NATURAL formulas, PerioSciences is upping the ante on total oral care,” adds Moon. “On top of the benefits of clean teeth, fresh breath and nourished oral tissues, PerioSciences products work harder to reach the goal of total health.”
